THE ICONIC LYRICIST LITO MC CASSIDY BRINGS TOGETHER DEMBOW'S GOLDEN ERAS, ALONGSIDE FARRUKO & EL MAYOR
FOR NEW VIDEO "La 23"
WATCH "La23" OFFICIAL MUSIC VIDEO HERE
Miami, FL (February 12, 2021) - Latin Hip-Hop legend and “Master Lyricist”, Lito MC Cassidy, rewinds to the 90’s and recreates the dembow infused track “La 23,” alongside Farruko and El Mayor Clasico. Released under BMG Right Entertainment, “La 23” is now available on all digital platforms.
“La 23” unites three generations of artists that have been significant pillars in the urban music movement stemming out of both Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic, since its early beginnings. Composed by Lito MC Cassidy, Farruko and El Mayor, the track will make even the most loyal fans and audiences travel back in time to the Reggaeton’s underground movement. “El Mayor added his iconic dembow punchlines and Farruko his explosive Reggae style, which helped the track come to life. They’re both extremely talented, and I’m honored to have worked with them on this track. I’m sure people will be taken back to the 90’s dance parties,” shared Lito.
With the song produced by Leo RD, the audience will be transported to Reggaeton’s underground movement, it’s roots and the famous “lyrics wars” between artists back in the day. The official video was directed by Lito MC Cassidy, and was filmed in both Puerto Rico and Dominican Republic. With urban-inspired scenarios, the video celebrates the genre’s early beginnings. The official music video is available on Lito’s official YouTube channel.
Lito MC Cassidy, maximum lyricist of the Latin rap and hip-hop movement, kicked-off the year with “Alienigena.” Produced by Riza Penjoel, the song expressed that regardless of the endless difficulties anyone may encounter throughout their journey, they must believe in themselves.
With a career that spans more than two decades, Lito has become a staple of the genre, known for his lyrical mastery. Lito has been awarded with two Premios Tu Musica Urbano awards and was nominated for a Billboard Latin Music Award. Last year, Lito’s undeniable talent officially marked his return to the music scene, and in 2021, he’s determined to revolutionize a new era of reggaeton and plans to release collaborations with some of the genre’s staple artists, including Daddy Yankee, Farruko, Ñengo Flow and El Mayor.
