SYMPHONIA OF HEARTS (VIRTUAL) THURSDAY
December 3, 2020 @ 7:00pm The Symphonia
To help combat the devastating blow the pandemic has dealt to visual artists in our community, The Symphonia, South Florida’s premier chamber music orchestra, has partnered with regional artists, two local galleries and area businesses to create ‘Symphonia of HEARTs,’ a virtual performance and art auction event taking place on Thursday, December 3 at 7 p.m.
The free, online event will feature performances by the orchestra’s talented musicians; a live, fine art auction facilitated by well-known auctioneer, Janice Hamilton; and a chance to [virtually] meet some of the featured artists. A silent auction will also debut on November 19, remaining live through the conclusion of the December 3 event. Proceeds from the auctions will help keep the heart of The Symphonia – its educational programs, community outreach and, of course, its music – beating, while highlighting and benefiting local artists.
In addition to several regional artists whose works will be featured, The Gallery Lounge by Salvatore Principe and other local galleries have partnered with The Symphonia to auction a number of works by local and regional artists from their collections. A Master’s Collection including works by Pablo Picasso, Salvador Dali, Marc Chagall, Joan Miro and Peter Max, as well as many contemporary artists, will also be available for purchase.
Local artists are invited to contribute one item for the silent and/or live auction and submit up to five additional items on consignment with minimum bid proceeds going directly to the artist. In addition, area restaurants, hotels, spas and other ‘experiential’ type businesses are invited to donate items for the cause.
Just in time for the holidays, the virtual silent and live auctions will also provide a way for guests to support local artists while giving friends, family and loved ones a one-of-a-kind item, hand-crafted with heart.

It all started when Chain Reaction banded together in South Florida and began recreating the sounds of the American super group, Journey. They wanted to pay special homage to Journey's best years (1977-1998), when Steve Perry fronted the band.
The amazing voice of John D’Agostino, coupled with the exceptional musical talents of four equally sophisticated and experienced musicians, soon propelled Chain Reaction to become one of the premier Journey reverence bands of our time. The band strives to recreate the exact sounds and nuances of Journey. Their passion for authenticity and attention to detail go a long way toward ensuring that the audience feels like they’re at a real Journey concert.
While the band has enjoyed performing the music of Journey, front man John D’Agostino also loves another American super group, Styx. Turns out, the rest of the band are huge Styx fans, too. So they began adding some of Styx's best tunes to their already expansive repertoire of Journey material.
The audience response was so positive, that Forever Styx was eventually added as a separate tribute band. Now you can have the best of both worlds inside THE BOX this December!
